We conducted a test to prove XPO’s functionality as a UV-resistant material. We set up XPO as a grain cover in Australia, where the UV light from the sun can be some of the strongest in the world.
Side-by-side, we compared XPO and traditional PVC as a food cover over the grain for 2 years, and found that XPO retained its appearance and colour, while PVC became brittle. In addition to this – plasticizers used in PVC which are known to be toxic came out of the fabric under the UV light. XPO is completely free of plasticizers and other toxic materials, and was extremely resistant to the weather – making it safe to use even for handling foods.
